Our Beliefs

We believe and exercise the Holy Spirit’s gifts and power today as written in Acts 2:4, in the Bible.

Holy Bible

We believe the Bible is the infallible Word from God written by man under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for showing people what is wrong in their lives, for correcting faults, and for teaching how to live right (2Tim 3:16 NCV). When Biblical Truths are practiced in union with the Holy Spirit and His gifts, He has the power to discern, to expose hidden motives and attitudes, to set people free from bondage and to transform thinking. (Heb 4:12, John 8:31-32, Rom 12:2)

Humankind

We believe that man (humans) is created by God and made in God’s image. He was designed to have fellowship and a personal relationship with God but disobeyed, after succumbing to Satan’s temptation. As a consequence, man sinned against God and has become subject to Satan’s rule. Every person born after this is naturally sinful and inclined to selfishness and evil. (Gen 2:7, Gen 3:1-23, Rom 1)

Saviour

We believe Jesus Christ (also known as Messiah) is the Son of God, born of the Holy Spirit and a virgin called Mary. He was fully man and fully God. He lived on earth without sin, although tempted in every way like us. He took the punishment for our sins [past, present and future] and was crucified on the cross so that we can be reconciled to God. He rose from the dead on the third day demonstrating His power over sin and death. Jesus Christ is the only way through whom we can receive forgiveness, be saved and have a personal relationship with God. He will return again to earth to reign as the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
(Matt 1:22-23, John 3:16, John 14:6, 1John 4:9-10, 1Cor 1:18, 1 Thess 4:16, Rev 11:15).

Salvation

When a person believes Jesus Christ is the Son of God, accepts Him as his/her Saviour by faith, repents and turns away from his/her previous conduct to follow Him as their Lord/Master, he/she is saved (born-again). Salvation is a gift from God, received only through continual faith and belief in Jesus Christ; it cannot be earned through self-improvements or works.
(Rom 10:9, 2Cor 5:17, John 5:24, Acts 4:8-12, Rom 1:16-17, 1Peter 1:9)

God

We believe that God is the Creator and Ruler of the Universe. He exists as three Persons: as God the Father, God the Son Jesus Christ and God the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are One God. He is a living, eternal, Almighty, all-powerful, all-knowing, present-everywhere personal God who desires to have a relationship with us.
(Matt 3:16, Luke 3:21-22, 2Pet 1:16-18, Rev 19:6 NKJ)

Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit is the Third Person of the Holy Trinity Who is fully God and who reveals and glorifies Jesus Christ, the Son of God. The Holy Spirit never controls us, we have a free will and a choice whether to obey His requests or not. We believe that once we have accepted Jesus as our Lord and Saviour, He gives us the Holy Spirit to live inside us to help us (to change, to receive His love etc.), to teach and to reveal the truth to us. The Holy Spirit is our Counsellor/Advocate and He testifies and glorifies Jesus Christ.
(John 14:16-17, John 14:26, John 15:26).

Divine Healer

We believe the Holy Spirit can and does heal people today and that there is a place for people to be made well by medical doctors. Divine healing is not the same as spiritual healing, which Spiritualists or others practice by calling on spirits, medium, faith healers or other sources.
(Ex 15:26, Mt 4:23, Mark 1:34)

Baptiser

We believe that if we ask Jesus to fill (baptise) us with the power of His Holy Spirit He will do so but this is received by faith. The ability to speak in tongue, (a Divinely inspired language) is one manifestation that shows we have been baptised with the Holy Spirit (John 1:33, Acts 1:1-5, Acts 2:38, Acts 19:4-6).
Believers are called to be baptised (be immersed) in water as Jesus Christ Himself was Being baptised in water is a symbol to represent that we have been cleansed from our sins, we have become a new person in Christ and we publicly declare that we choose to follow Jesus Christ
(Matt 3:16, Acts 32:38, Acts 2:41, Acts 22:16; Gal 3:27, 2 Cor 5:17)

The Church

We believe that when we are born-again, we are baptised into the Body of Christ (the church) by the Holy Spirit who draws men and women to Christ Jesus.(1 Cor 12:12-13)

Fruit of the Spirit, The Gifts and The Ministry

We believe that when we are truly born-again (John 3:3-8) we will start to display the character of the Holy Spirit in our lives, described as the fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5:22- 25. We believe the Holy Spirit gives gifts to us to develop our character to become more like Jesus Christ and to help us to bring the unconditional love and transforming power of Jesus Christ to people who do not know Him.
(1 Cor 12:7-11, James 5:14, John 14:12).

We believe the Holy Spirit appoints a person to serve His church (which represents His Body) in ministries, according to His Divine will and plan. He equips us with His gifts for the purpose of building His people up to become mature Christians who will be more Christ-like in their thinking, attitude and behaviour.
(1 Cor 12:28, Eph 4:11)

The Coming King

We believe Jesus Christ will return to earth for His people – before the reign of terror begins and then He will reign on earth for one thousand years (pre-millenial). (Rev 20:4)

The Future State

The Bible states there is a heaven and a hell. (Matt 13:47-50, Rev 14:14-20, 2 Cor 5:10)

The Ordinances

We are called to take part in the Lords’ Supper, in remembrance of our Lord’s sacrifice. (Luke 22:14-20)
